Jumping in Joy: I am PR3

April 3, 2009
Whoah, guys did you feel it, tha changes this April 2009? PR or commonly known as PageRank just updated and this blog: Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009, gained a big PR3. For those who are not familiar with the term, PageRank is a way of measurement of Google to tag websites for its importance over the search result pages. Its measurement is from 0 to 10, where zero is the least important value while ten is the highest importance a site can gain. So if you have a higher PR the more valuable your site is. Now, you may asked how would you gain a higher value. Actually the algorithm that is used by this seach engine in computing this value is hidden in the eyes of the public. Back in the days, the said algorithm was revealed however some misused this algorithm and abused the power that they've gained from this.

For myself, I uses a simple formula to gain a high PR of my site. See the formula below:

Gaining PR = Quality Unique Contents plus Lot of Backlinks less Outbound Links

Where, quality unique contents refers to a original and non-duplicate contents or non-copy and paste contents. Quality can also be gained by utilizing different medium in your contents such as video and images or pictures other than text. Actually a friend of mine just gained PR4 because of his really "unique" and out of this world content. Lot of backlinks or inbound links on the other hand refers to external/internal pages linking to your targetted site. This can be gained by directory submissions, social bookmarking, blog commenting and exchange links. Outbound link refers to links that are getting out of your site. It should be minimized because too much of this weakens the PR strength of your site for its power is distributed in each external websites. This is the formula that I always used in any engangement I am encountering involving websites or blogs, static or dynamic.

Every individual has its own preferences and in the Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009 event, entrants surely uses their own formula or the same as mine but in different perspective.

It is through blog commenting that you both gain back links to your blogs at the same time you learn something from other blogs. However, this is the reason why some are using this mechanisms to spam the web. Now, some blogs instantly approve comments but other blogs are turning their comment moderation on. This mean that before your comments get out of their blogs, it will be read thoroughly and its the discretion of the bloggers if they will approve or not your statements or remarks. This is because they don't like their sites to be spammed by these people. Even search engines indicates on their guidelines that site owners should not allow spammers get insider their system. That's when captcha and comment moderation came to being.

Now I will list here some practical guidelines to increase the chance of approval on your comments.
  1. Read the posts first and try to write comments really relevant to the article that you've read. If you can't find time to do that try to read the first or last paragraph of the post and base your comment there.
  2. Avoid the comments "great post", "nice post" and the like. It triggers them that your a spam.
  3. Write at least two to three sentences of comments. This looks like you are really sincere with your comments.
Remember this before you start your commenting spree, try to be sincere with all of your remarks. If not, even closest to that. I know some of the Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009 participants already mastered this commenting craft and so can you share your ideas here?

March 16, 2009
Listen Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009 members, participants and enthusiasts, today I will discuss about things that will change your life forever. I will discuss today the different methods how to earn from simply blogging. One reason why blogging became popular around cyberspace is because of its lucrative characteristics. That's right a lot of people, gramatically gifted or not were lured to create their blogs merely for the purpose of earning from it. Now, what are the different avenues or methods these bloggers are earning from their blogs. The following are the common methods bloggers are earning from their craft:
  1. Blog reviews or posting. This is the first thing I've started making money online from merely blogging. The problem with this is Google really hates this type of method for the reason that according to them it hurts the "natural ecology" of the world wide web. That's why when SEs found out that you are doing such, they are penalizing your site. Later, I will discuss in detail how search engines are penalizing blogs or websites.
  2. Ads. This is another method that is really attractive when in terms of payment and earning. Some have hundreds of blogs maintained and earning a thousands or more dollars a month. Some common advertising means are through Google Adsense, which is highly utilized by bloggers all over the world, Adbrite, Projectwonderful, Nuffnang and others. However, this earning method requires traffic to be generated to realize the result. So it means that you need to promote your blogs more than what you are doing normally. Actually a friend of mine who participated the Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009 event, stop from joining because he started to earn bigger than what he can get from the event which is a practical decision.
These are just two methods and will try to continue more of it on my next post.

Capiznon Blogger on Playing Chess

February 21, 2009
Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009 - My MedalToday, I participated a local chess competition here in Capiz called Ret. General Roberto T. Lastimoso "General Strategy" Chess Tournament and successfully got 4 points out of 5 games making me to get the 4th place. I did not attend our MSCS seminar in Iloilo City and preferred to play instead to this Capiz Chess Association, Inc. organized tournament. CCA is a chess organization in the province of Capiz which is the only organization to be affiliated with the national chess organization, NCFP (National Chess Federation of the Philippines).

I really missed playing and actually did not participate our last chess tournament last February 14 because I have my report on our MSCS in Iloilo that day so I am obliged to attend. Actually feel bad that I wasn't able to participate this test of wit and strong nerves. That's why today, I make sure that I will not miss this game despite the fact that I am not practicing and playing much chess lately because of my several hectic activities and as a blogger, I have several blogs to maintain. For your information, this chess tournament is a in exclusive tourney for Capiznon players who will be representing the province on regional chess tournaments. The competition aimed to find top 10 best players of Capiz and luckily got the 4th place.

I really like this tournament not because I won a place but because it given me a certain feeling of relaxation. I know it causes some sort of stress but as I said to a Capiznon friend, the game of chess seems to massage my brain cells making it to work much better. It's like oiling the different cells to move on its maximum capacity. Allowing me to formulate a lot of ideas. I will discuss in detail about this Capiznon chess event on my chess blog later. I am quite tired right now and my head really aches. Maybe because I have less sleep for several days already and I overuse my brain juices today with the said tournament. Needs to rest guys! :)

Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009 Definition

February 3, 2009
Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009 Log. What is this blog all about? Well, this site will be discussing different topics about the different hectic schedules of different Capiznon bloggers. Before I start describing every single activity of this group of people. I would like to introduce the three terms which is indicated on the title. Let us start, shall we.

Hectic. This term is synonymous to words frenzied, frantic, excited, confused, chaotic and wild. This is the usual adjective used for describing a very tight schedule of busy people. Etymology speaking ,the word came from hecticus which was derived from the Greek word hektikus which refers to habitual or consumptive word. In middle english, hektikus came from etyk, and from Anglo-French etique. The word also used to refer to persistent fever causes by diseases such as tuberculosis (TB).

Capiznon. Refers to the dialect spoken by group of people from a place called "Capiz." This is usually used by other people instead of the word "Capizenio", which refers to the native of the said province. This language spoken by natives is a combination of Akeanon and Waray and sometimes mistaken to Hiligaynon or Ilongo.

Bloggers. A term used for people who blog. The term was taken from two words "web" and "loggers" which this combination refers to persons who make their logs of their activities online. These people loves to discuss anything about what they like, love and hate. Actually I am one of those who write and publish different kinds of articles, write-ups and practical tips online.

Now if we will combine, Hectic + Capiznon + Bloggers it will be equals to the key phrase "Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009."

Update: I made changes to the title of this post and change the Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009 title, adding the phrase Spam vs Real Content which indicates a challenge between spammers and real content writers who wants to spread the Capiznon words through out the cyberspace in the most relevant way. I have seen a lot of spam lately linking to the phrase and I must do something about this. That's why whenever I made topics about Capiz, I make sure that it is related to the province. Let just see who will win, spammers or our way! :) For others, the phrase Hectic Capiznon Bloggers 2009 is just a game to play. They just don't know the responsibility that lies behind this. I will try what I can do to make sure that blogs that is relevant to the phrase will be the one who will only swarm the world wide web.
